Dr. Norma Jabin is a clinical psychologist/psychotherapist living and practicing in Merrick, Long Island. Later in her career she discovered her talent and began to explore her interest in art. Her knowledge of "projective techiniques" used in psychological evaluations led her to develop an art form she called "projective art".

She attended workshops and soon was accepted into art associations where in various exhibits she began winning awards for her work. She has exhibitied in banks, libraries, art fairs on the Island and in Greenwich Village in NYC. She won an award for a solo exhibit at the Mantis Gallery in Williston, Long Island. She was also chosen for publication by Ted Turner in his book, "The Heart of Healing"

Her favorite medium is watercolor, and her themes are beach scenes, flowers, portraits, and her projective art, wherein she portrays mood states utilizing figure-ground perceptual effects. In these paintings we find shared lines and body parts. This is explained psychologically in that "we assimilate and integrate our experiences, objects, and significant figures in our environment which become part of us." The artist's aim is to convey various emotional and feeling states as well as the human condition.
